Sandro Bottecelli " The Birth of Venus" located at the Uffizi Gallery Florence, Italy.  This Piece of art is " the Birth of Venus" which is a Tempera on canvas painting. This painting was Created by Sandro Botticelli in 1485, the dimensions of this painting are 172.5 X 278.5 cm. I find this painting just absolutely incredible. the line work is very detailed and edging is exact. it creates the perfect barrier for the eye to catch the distinction of change in background and also gives a transition of clear perspective into different parts of the painting. Considering that this painting is of mythical or a  heavenly presence the coloration of this painting is very light. Taking in the context that this is a birth of perspective celestial being the colors have to be light ushering the dawn or a beginning of a new light. Venus is considered to be the goddess of love and beauty so the light blending of the shapes and color must give the illusion of the more than utter b...

" The Night Watch" by Rembrandt https://smarthistory.org/rembrandt-the-night-watch/ This Painting is known as " the Night Watch created by Rembrandt, in 1642. This is an oil on canvas and is currently held within the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Considering the name of this painting and the overall intent or original content this painting is very dark on the outside having the audience believe that is is obviously night time. It also uses bight colors towards the center to catch the eye of the beholder to have the center of the painting being the most important part. This painting has a lot of motion and action happening in it. this is painting of a battalion or brigade of Guards for the city. these so called guards would basically act as police of the city and would protect the streets the people and the boundaries of the city. They would train and practice with many of the modern weapons for that time in history. Using the certain colors you can see that th...

"A Huntsman and Dogs" By Winslow Homer https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Winslow_Homer_-_A_huntsman_and_dogs.jpg This piece created by Winslow Homer is from 1891 and currently portrayed in the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It is a very well executed oil on canvas that mainly uses darker colors to set a background and light colors to emphasize the focus on the main parts of the painting. This painting is of a hunter and his dogs that have ventured out into the country to go deer hunting. I love that in the background the colors used give a seemingly dark complex as to the uncertainty of the land that is being roamed by not only the hunter and his dogs but the wildlife that are as well. It gives the impression that it was a hard day and almost disappointment to think that the day was going not well for the hunter. The linework created in the front of the painting was used to define the main focus of the painting which be on the hunter and his dogs. it gives a clear transi...
